Grand Prize Winner
#144 Laura Wagner

Judges Comments: Very generous in its scope and outreach to the existing urban fabric. Upward dynamic of buildings: very positive gesture as are the ideas of food and “green roof urban framing.” Presentation is clear, complete, illustrating the intention with an economy of means.

Second Place Winner
#119 David Brown

Judges Comments: This scheme does a very good job of making edges and open space that respond to the existing conditions. Great as a generator for future adjacent development.

Third Place Winner
#136 Dana Topley, Justin Markland, Ayiz Momim, Michael McGrath, John Mills

Judges Comments:Urban water features are generally favorites with the greater public.
While it can be debated whether an open space is what is needed in the “gulch,” this water feature engages the public in several tactile and immediate ways: the beach, the hovering programmable space, the farming tract and its relationship to transportation.

Honorable Mention
#141 David Gange

Judges Comments: Smart infrastructural idea.

Honorable Mention
#126 Brandon Shigeta & Robert Alexander

Judges Comments: Incremental revitalization at the scale of the parking space seems somehow hopelessly romantic but, on the other hand, hopeful that a community could reconfigure its landscape without the heavy hand of the bulldozer and the mega project.
