2010 Information

DETAILS:
The Young Architects Forum [YAF] is announcing the third annual 48 Hour design competition. Open to all Students, Designers, and Architects up to 10 years of licensure. The purpose of this competition is to provide a venue for designers and architects to showcase their ability, and to illustrate the value of good design to the Greater Public.

FORMAT:
The competition program will be based in Atlanta, GA and focus on current Architectural and Design topics. Registration numbers will be assigned upon registration. Each entrant will be provided a digital 'Program Packet' when the competition opens. There will be a 24 hour period for questions, all questions and answers will be posted on the competition website prior to 5 pm on October 15th. All entries will be returned as a digital PDF @ 24''x36''. 

DATES:
Thursday, October 14th - 5pm: Competition opens. Brief is distributed. Questions period opens.

Friday, October 15th - 5pm: Questions period closes.

Sunday, October 17th - 11:59pm: All entries due.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

 1. Do you have to be from Atlanta to enter the competition? answer; No the competition is open to Architects with no more than ten years licensure, regardless of location.

2. Are you required to enter as an individual or are teams allowed? answer; Teaming is allowed, however only one entry is allowed per registration number. 

3. When will the program be released and how will I receive it? answer; The program will be released @ 5pm on October 14th. The competition brief and materials will be made available through FTP transfer. Instructions for accessing the competition brief will be sent via email to the registered contestants.

4. How do we submit our completed entry? answer; There will be a dedicated FTP site for uploading. Instructions to submit completed entries will be included in the competition brief. 

5. How will the winning entries be announced? answer; The winner(s) will be announced at the 2010 YAF Emerging Voices Exhibit. Entries will be printed and exhibited with recognition for each team included in the gallery space corresponding to their entry.

6. How will the entries be evaluated? answer: The entries will be reviewed by a panel of esteemed Judges.
